A self proclaimed hipster with a big afro, personality and exuding endless amounts of quirky coolness – you may be inclined to disregard this guy as another ‘fash wa’ music wannabe , but Darwin Deez is one of those artists who dosnt seem to act as if he is trying to be anything but himself.  Take away the cool clothes and ability to make a torn and spewed upon charity shop t-shirt look cool, Mr Deez creates little bundles of quirky & creative breezy indie pop music that are actually pretty dam good.   Managing to find a balance between talent and style without the arrogance you cant help but endear to what this guy has to offer.  Maybe what has aided his genuine happy-go-lucky cheery attitude is his spiritual beliefs, being a follower of the teachings of 20th century Indian spiritualist Meher Baba – The preacher who adopted silence from the age of 31 and advocated the mantra ‘dont worry be happy’.

His most recent piece of work and debut single ‘Constellations’ was released on Monday 14th December and is a shining example of just how happy (and talented!) this guy is.  The single like much of his music and life philosophy combines simple pleasures and sounds to offer something that is catchy, light hearted and instantly loveable.  His lyrics are simple yet heartfelt, and his melodies are rickety, bouncy and cheerful….as he puts it himself so perfectly its ‘ happy music for sad people’ wittily ironic and warmly inclusive – effortlessly infectious songs with a deadpan sense of humour.
